Iris Page joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force in July 1947. She had wanted to join much earlier but her job at the Post Office Savings Bank being a reserved occupation meant she could not. As soon as she was released, she enlisted as a Photographer, a role which saw her leaning out of aircrafts on a harness to capture pictures with her camera. After she was demobbed, she went on to work for the Police in the photographic and fingerprinting department.
