And in the middle of the night,

we were told to get up, take a blanket,

put our trousers on,

up the hill, very steep at that point,

up the hill to the castle.

So, there was a man on

and every time he saw a flash,

come from the collet side,

he would blow his whistle,

and then we'd lay down,

and put a blanket over

And the shells, you could hear the shells

landing around you,

didn't... didn't hit
