with the British Government,
to formally start a Kenyan Air Force.
And we were the first bunch of the pilots
to be taken to Eastleigh Royal Air Force Base
where we continued training as pilots.
The first thing of course is that
we joined as,
we went and joined the second lieutenants
but when we went there we were told,
sorry you will be cadets
and you will be staying with servicemen.
In fact we were put in corporals mess
and corporals accommodation.
Although we were given the single rooms
at the far end of the barracks
and that was a little bit of,
let's say,
we felt like we were demoted
at that particular time
but we accepted.
