Spit and Polish

  • Peter Ramrayka

Transcript

The tradition is in cleaning the boots

is that you polish it,

and then you polish the tip of the boot

and you spit on it

and then rub the polish

and you continue to spit

and then you look

the quality inspection

was if you could see your face in the boot.

Now, a fairer skin person

would be able to see their faces in the boot

but for someone who is black or brown,

it takes a little bit more polishing,

so we would be polishing away there

and we can't really see our faces

as much as Fred next to us.
