Born in Trinidad, Corporal Sheldon Skeete moved to Birmingham aged 18, where he completed a Mechanical Engineering degree. He joined the RAF aged 24, as a propulsion technician. Skeete celebrated the Royal Air Force’s centenary by writing a calypso song, inspired by the RAF. Skeete has been crowned the UK’s Calypso King four years in a row and continues to perform both in the UK and abroad.
