Yeah. And then I came back to to the UK.
Came back to Scampton.
So it wasn't far from where
So that was quite nice
and kind of drove in
and the base,
It's a small police flight they’re all
welcoming and supportive and,
just really lovely group of people.
A big contrast to where I'd been before.
And so, yeah, I was enjoying,
I was enjoying kind of you know, my time,
And then out of the blue,
some
kind of like, I guess you call it, like,
came and, arrested me
Took me into a room and.,
yeah, told me why.
Suspected homosexuality,
which is, obviously against military law.
Section 69 and,
And then, you know, started
having a, tape recorder interview.
So producing statements
But they didn't have anything concrete.
They didn't have anything
that I was because myself
Obviously,
We knew we couldn't,
have anything with our, our names on.
So we changed the names and stuff
to male names
And got rid of anything
Didn't keep it.
unbeknownst to me,
She had her room searched,
so they kind of went through everything.
At that point,
because she wanted to keep her job.
She didn't tell me she'd been arrested at.
I had no idea.
It was only when I spoke to her parents
and been told not to say anything to me.
yeah.
So that was hard.
because,
you know, we had the police training,
all about police interviews
and how to respond and, and not give them
so that's what I did.
I was put on gardening, leave.
And then called back in
for another tape recorded interview.
They hadn't they didn't have anything
again, but I was just at the point
where I couldn't take it anymore,
with, with, the court martial,
you know, being in the closet,
now, kind of police interview
So, and actually,
to a large degree, so it was,
just thought, why am I doing it?
You know, she walked away,
decided
So who am I protecting, actually?
And, I'm not helping myself because,
mentally, I was not in a good place,
my hands up and said, yes, I am,
Obviously,
I went outside and,
warrant Officer, who’d
come down with them,
basically said that I disgusted him
and got,
another police officer to take me to her,
to her room.
on camp,
out of the way while they
sort of things out.
I was put on gardening leave, so.
Yeah, that was
that was the end of kind of my career
I don't think that was, you know,
and, but that was, that was it really.
That was the end of it.
