The Sea King was a fantastic
We could fly in any weather over the sea.
We could fly day or
We could put a paramedic down,
to people in need.
It was multi-engines.
We had plenty of power
and if we lost an engine,
we could usually fly away safely.
And it had redundancy all over.
We had two hydraulic systems, two engines,
and a big funking gear box
that would put up with an awful lot.
It was a robust helicopter.
It was a good, American
that enjoyed being used properly.
You had to be gentle
being put into some tough spots as well.
