Former RAF Navigator Sean Maffett grew up hearing the stories of his father and uncle, who had both sadly been killed whilst serving with the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. His uncle was killed during the Battle of Britain, the wreckage of his Hurricane is part of the RAF Museum’s collection. These stories inspired Sean to join up, becoming a navigator in transport aircraft.
