Rudy Hicks served as a Warrant Officer Flight Engineer on Wellingtons and Lancasters in 166 Squadron 1 Group Bomber Command at RAF Kirmington and 582 Squadron PFF 8 Group Bomber Command Little Staughton. Rudy was a Leicester Market trader for over 40 years selling ladies dresses. He was also co-owner of a very respected Leicester Dance Club called Les Ambassadeurs in the 1960s. This was located above John Cheatle menswear in Charles Street. Rudy was also one of the founding fathers of the Leicester and Leicestershire Liberal Jewish Community in the late early 50s who have their own Synagogue in Avenue Road. Rudy was also a long serving member of the Freemasons.
