has a zero tolerance policy to any sort of discrimination,
which is massively important,
but it also promotes a diverse culture,
so it doesn't matter who you are,
everyone can mix after work and that sort of thing,
and so I think a mixture of those two assets
are vital if you want to be a top employer
for LGBT communities and any other groups as well.
It doesn't matter who you are
On 12 January 2000, the ban on LGBT+ people serving in the British Armed Forces was lifted. Before this date, anyone found to be LGBT+ could be dismissed or even sent to military prison. January 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the lifting of this ban, allowing LGBT+ personnel to serve openly as themselves. In this collection of stories, serving LGBT+ personnel discuss their experiences of hiding a part of themselves away, inventing fake partners and being personally investigated before speaking about the relief they felt once the ban had been lifted, to be able to get on with their job without fear.
